Job summary

TotalMed RN in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an OR - Operating Room travel nurse for a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, featuring 12-hour night shifts. This role requires active RN licensure and BLS, with a preference for 1–2 years of acute care experience in circulating or scrub roles.

The OR Travel Nurse will support physicians and staff, perform duties across circulating, scrub, and possibly RN first assistant roles, and provide patient education before discharge.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience as circulating nurse or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required before starting an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education on medication management and home care.
