Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a 13-week assignment in Claremore, Oklahoma. The OR RN will prepare the operating room, assist in patient positioning, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure high-quality perioperative care.

Requirements include one year OR RN experience, valid RN license, and BLS. Preferred certifications include ACLS/PALS/ENPC and CNOR.

Qualifications

• One year of Operating Room RN experience.
• Valid RN license in accordance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications preferred.
• OR Nursing Certification (CNOR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room with all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
• Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintains a sterile field and follows infection control procedures.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides instruments and supplies promptly.
• Monitors patient condition during surgery and notifies the surgeon of changes.
• Handles and sterilizes surgical instruments and manages disposal per protocol.
• Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport per facility protocol.
• Documents all patient care activities in the perioperative setting.
• Participates in handoffs before and after surgery to ensure continuity of care.
• Cleans and restocks the operating room between cases per turnover protocols.
