Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a travel OR RN for a 13-week assignment in Mattoon, IL. The role involves perioperative patient care, instrument management, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Start date 10/12/2026, 40 hours per week, days shift, with competitive benefits. You will hold a valid RN license, current BLS, and at least one year of OR experience; ACLS/PALS/ENPC or CNOR are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Operating Room RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications are preferred.
• OR Nursing Certification (CNOR) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with instruments and sterile supplies for each procedure.
• Position and prep patients for surgery ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintain a sterile field and follow infection control procedures.
• Assist the surgical team by providing instruments and support.
• Monitor patient condition during surgery and document changes.
• Handle and sterilize surgical instruments and dispose of supplies per protocol.
• Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport.
• Document all perioperative patient care activities.
• Participate in handoff communications before and after surgery.
• Clean and restock the operating room between cases following turnover protocols.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with policies and safety rules.
