Job summary

TotalMed is seeking an OR travel nurse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role supports operating room teams with circulating, scrub, and potential RN first assistant duties for a 13-week assignment at 40 hours per week and a 10-hour day shift. BLS and 1–2 years of acute care experience are commonly required.

The RN will assist in pre- and post-surgery care, participate in instrument handling, educate patients and families, and support operating room safety throughout each shift.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.
• Experience in operating room settings and familiarity with OR protocols is preferred.
• BLS certification is required or listed in the requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide basic bedside care and administer prescribed medications as directed.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families, and the operating team.
