Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an inpatient rehabilitation unit in Texas. The role requires 1+ year of experience and a Texas OT license. You will provide therapy to patients with caseloads and use Meditech Expanse for documentation.

Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with possible float to acute care. Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Occupational Therapy license required, if applicable.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required.
• Inpatient rehabilitation and neuro rehab experience preferred.
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Rehabilitation unit with 20 beds.
• Staff includes 3 FT PTs, 1 PT PT, 1 FT OT, 2 FT COTAs, and 1 therapy supervisor on day shift.
• Patient ratio of 4-6 per day with 30-120 minute sessions totaling 6-6.5 hours of patient care.
• Patients may include chest tubes/JP drains, wound vacs, and trachs/PEGs.
• Equipment includes Hoyer lift, LiteGait, Sara Stand, and standard PT/OT equipment.
• EMR system used is Meditech Expanse.
• Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Possible floating to acute care as needed.
• Must work 1 major and 1 minor holiday if they fall during the assignment rotation.
• Navy blue scrub attire required.
• Flexible scheduling ability needed to accommodate patient needs.
• Strong communication skills valued.
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted.
