Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a short-term acute care hospital assignment in Indiana. The role requires 2+ years of nuclear medicine experience in a community hospital setting and CNMT or NMTCB certification with BLS.

You will perform a range of studies including bone scans, myocardial perfusion, renal and liver imaging, and thyroid studies, with Cerner charting and Siemens equipment familiarity preferred. Travel and housing support are provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • BLS and CNMT or NMTCB certification required.
  • IN license required, or compact license if applicable.
  • Community hospital experience required.
  • Cerner charting experience required.
  • Experience with nuclear cardiology procedures, SPECT imaging, bone/brain/liver/renal scans, and radioactive material handling.
  • Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs and drawing venous blood.
  • Experience with Siemens equipment preferred.
  • Two supervisor references required.

Responsibilities

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting in the Nuclear Medicine department.
  • Adult and geriatric patient population.
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Cerner EMR experience required.
  • May float to other facilities within the system based on need.
  • Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required for all travelers.
  • Perform a range of nuclear medicine procedures including bone scans, myocardial perfusion studies, renal and liver imaging, thyroid studies, and lung scans.
  • Royal blue scrubs required.
  • Free parking available.
  • First-time travelers are accepted.
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
  • Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval.
  • Local candidates (IN residents) are accepted.
  • Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler.
  • Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents).
