Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/multi-specialty role in Baltimore, MD, working night shifts with 3x12h blocks and a 36‑hour week. The assignment spans NICU, PICU, and adult critical care, requiring strong NICU/PICU experience and proficiency in high-frequency ventilators, nitric oxide therapy, and complex airway management.

Active RRT licensure (MD license where applicable), ACLS/BLS/NRP/PALS, and 2+ years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RRT license required.
• 1 year of strong NICU/adult critical care experience acceptable with pediatric experience.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP and PALS certifications required.
• NICU and PICU experience essential.
• Competence in adult care settings (ER, Med/Surg ICU) and all age groups.
• Community hospital experience preferred; trauma experience beneficial.
• High-frequency jet/oscillating ventilators and nitric oxide therapy exposure.
• Neonatal and pediatric intubation experience; ventilator management including BiPAP/CPAP/SIMV/IMV.
• ABG drawing and interpretation skills.
• First-time travelers welcome with strong NICU/PICU/adult care skillset.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care respiratory services across NICU, PICU, and adult care as needed.
• Support high‑risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric transports.
• Perform airway management including intubation assistance, extubation, suctioning.
• Manage ventilators and administer aerosols per patient protocol.
