Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel nurse in New Albany, Indiana for a 13-week assignment. This RN role requires 1 year of acute care experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and covers 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

The PCU RN will monitor patients requiring close observation, operate monitoring equipment, and administer medications while coordinating care in a fast-paced setting. Completion of tasks includes IVs, dressings, and rapid response when needed.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 1 year of acute care RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Monitor patient status and interpret monitoring equipment.
• Initiate corrective actions when monitoring data shows concerning trends.
