Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Ocala, FL. The MLT will perform routine tests across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and toxicology while ensuring accuracy and maintaining equipment.

The role requires a valid license where required and at least one year of recent MLT experience; ASCP or equivalent certification and BLS are preferred. Travel benefits, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Valid license where required according to state regulations.
• ASCP/AMT/AAB/HEW or equivalent certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine diagnostic tests in chemistry, hematology, and immunology.
• Prepare and process specimens with accurate labeling.
• Ensure accuracy of results via quality control protocols.
• Follow SOPs and regulatory guidelines (AABB, CAP, FDA, CLIA).
• Assist with transfusion reaction investigations.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments; troubleshoot as needed.
• Communicate results clearly to healthcare professionals.
• Follow safety and infection control guidelines.
• Maintain detailed records of results, calibrations, and QC.
• Assist with inventory, reagents, and lab supplies.
• Perform other duties within the scope of practice.
