Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Carbondale, IL. The MLT will perform routine and moderately complex tests across multiple diagnostic areas, ensure accuracy of results, and maintain laboratory equipment.

The role requires one year of recent MLT experience, license where required by state regulations, and preferred ASCP/AMT/AAB/HEW certifications with BLS.

Qualifications

• Must have one year of recent MLT experience.
• Valid license when required by state regulations.
• Preferred ASCP/AMT/AAB/HEW or equivalent certification; BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine lab tests across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and toxicology.
• Prepare and label specimens with proper handling.
• Assure accuracy of results via quality control procedures.
• Follow SOPs and regulatory guidelines (AABB, CAP, FDA, CLIA).
• Assist with transfusion reaction investigations by handling samples.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments, troubleshoot as needed.
• Communicate results clearly to healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate records of tests, calibrations, and QC data.
• Assist with inventory, reagents, and lab supplies.
