Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Covington, LA. The role supports multiple diagnostic areas and offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.

The MLT will perform routine and moderately complex tests, ensure accuracy, operate lab instruments, and adhere to quality control and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Valid license when required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine diagnostic laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology.
• Prepare and process specimens with accurate labeling and handling.
• Ensure accuracy of test results by following quality control protocols.
• Follow SOPs and regulatory guidelines (AABB, CAP, FDA, CLIA).
• Support investigation of transfusion reactions and collect required samples.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments; troubleshoot within scope.
• Communicate results clearly to healthcare professionals.
• Maintain safety and infection control protocols; document results and calibrations.
