Job summary

Golden State Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to partner with providers and guide patients through treatments. You will prepare exam rooms, review histories, assist during Mohs and cosmetic procedures, and support front desk duties. The role requires multitasking and meticulous record-keeping.

Travel between Livermore and Pleasanton clinics is required. Prior dermatology or healthcare experience and EMR proficiency (EMA/EClinicalWorks) are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills or a patient-centered mindset.
• Previous Dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics experience.
• Knowledgeable with insurance carriers (Medicare, commercial, HMO).
• Familiar with EMR software (EMA, EClinicalWorks or similar).

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with instruments and supplies.
• Review patient history, visit reason, medications, and notes in EMA/EHR.
• Assist dermatology providers during surgical procedures and treatments.
• Support front desk with phones, scheduling, and reception tasks.
• Maintain autoclave sterility, inventory, and medication records.
• Process prescription refills and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Manage pathology logs, slides, and biopsy records; multitask effectively.
