Job summary

Golden State Dermatology seeks a Medical Assistant to join a physician-led dermatology group with multiple CA locations. You will partner with providers to guide patients through treatments and coordinate exams across Livermore and Pleasanton clinics.

Responsibilities include room prep, patient history review, scheduling, assisting during Mohs and cosmetic procedures, and front desk support. Training on EMA/EClinicalWorks may be provided; travel between sites is required.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills and a patient-centered approach.
• Previous dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with EClinicalWorks or EMA or similar EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with instruments and supplies; keep rooms stocked.
• Review patient history, visit reason, medications and document in EMA.
• Ensure MIPS and pathology logs are accurately completed in the record.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments and support front desk as needed.
• Assist providers during surgical procedures (excision, Mohs, cosmetic).
• Maintain autoclave logs, perform spore testing, and track maintenance.
• Check medication expiration dates and manage biopsy books, slides and reports.
• Process prescription refills per procedures and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Demonstrate responsibility in handling pathology and culture logs.
