Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Med Surg travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Springfield, TN. The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience, BLS certification, and a 12-hour night shift with 36 hours per week.

As a MedSurg RN, you will conduct patient assessments, document findings, and educate families. Duties include bedside care, administering medications, dressing changes, IV starts, and discharge planning. Travel salary reflects 12-hour shifts and a tax-free stipend may apply.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
• Med Surg RN with travel experience preferred.
• Nights shift, 12 hours, 36 hours per week, travel assignment type.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Administer and record prescribed medications, report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs as needed.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, care plans and recovery.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education as prescribed.
