Job summary

TotalMed in Bristol, Tennessee is seeking a Med Surg Registered Nurse for a travel assignment. The position involves 12-hour nights, 42 hours per week, and a 13-week duration. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of recent acute care experience and BLS certification.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, medications, and discharge planning. The travel RN will work in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment, providing patient education and supporting families.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• 13-week travel assignment.
• 42 hours per week; 12-hour shifts, nights.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Administer prescribed medication and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education plans.
