Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a travel Labor and Delivery RN for an assignment in Oakland, California. The position covers obstetric care, labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum responsibilities at a facility in Oakland.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of L&D RN experience, CA RN license, and current BLS; NRP certification is required. Travel compensation includes tax-free stipends and a competitive pay package with benefits.

Qualifications

One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
Valid RN license in California.
Current BLS certification.
NRP certification (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).

Responsibilities

Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and examination.
Provide immediate postpartum care and stabilize mother and newborn.
Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
Document patient care and interventions in the medical record.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
