Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Sylva, NC. The RN will provide obstetric care, monitor mother and fetus, and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations (NC).
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines.
