Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse to join our team in Salem, Virginia. This 13‑week assignment requires a RN with acute care experience and a 36‑hour work week on 12‑hour night shifts.

The L&D travel nurse will support mothers through labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care. Certification requirements include ACLS/BLS/NRP/AWHONN and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.

Qualifications

• 3 years' recent acute care experience required.
• Labor and Delivery RN travel assignment.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression.
• Assist with delivery instruments and drapes; support physician.
• Provide immediate care to newborn after delivery.
