Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Charlottesville, Virginia. The L&D RN will provide specialized care to women before, during and after delivery, requiring consistent attention, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

The position is a 13-week travel assignment with a 12-hour night shift, 36 hours per week, ASAP start. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of acute care experience and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• 3 years' recent acute care experience.
• BLS, ACLS, 2 Years * Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/dilation.
• Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after birthing process.
• Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
• Immediate care of newborn.
