Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Birmingham, Alabama. This travel role involves 36 hours per week, nights, and a 12-hour shift, with ACLS/NRP/BLS requirements and 3 years of acute care experience.

The L&D RN will assist physicians during labor and delivery, monitor contractions, support mothers, and care for newborns, in a fast-paced travel setting across Alabama.

Qualifications

• 3 years' recent acute care experience.
• RN license required.
• Travel nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix progression and dilation regularly.
• Assist physicians with delivery procedures and instruments.
• Provide immediate care to newborns.
