Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with ARRT RT(R) certification and Kentucky licensure to perform vascular interventional radiology procedures.

The role requires an AS degree from a JRCERT-accredited program, ARRT registry, BLS, and 1 year of mammography experience, with strong communication and meticulous attention to detail. On-site 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with call and weekend coverage. Training and patient-care duties are included.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program is required.
• Current ARRT Registry in Radiography RT(R) is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Kentucky radiation license is required.
• One year of mammography diagnostic experience is required.
• Continuing education hours must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Radiology Interventional unit setting.
• 1st shift, 5x8 schedule: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Call, weekend and holiday coverage required.
• Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures to produce diagnostic images.
• Verify orders and patient identity prior to exams.
• Document patient care details in the EHR and track incidents and reactions.
• Coordinate patient exams with transport and nursing units.
• Apply ALARA principles and monitor patients during exams.
• Assist radiologists and providers with exams as needed.
• Train new employees on equipment and exam protocols.

• Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program required


• Current ARRT Registry in Radiography RT(R) required


• Current BLS certification required


• Current Commonwealth of Kentucky State Specific Radiation License required with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (license required if applicable)


• One year of mammography diagnostic experience required


• Must maintain continuing education hours required by licensing agency


• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required


• Outstanding eye-hand coordination and attention to detail required

Responsibilities

• Radiology Interventional unit setting


• 1st shift, 5x8 schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday


• Call, weekend, and holiday coverage required


• Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing, and related techniques to produce diagnostic images


• Verifies orders, patient identity, and patient history prior to exams


• Performs and documents peripheral venipuncture when necessary for exams


• Documents patient care details in the electronic health record, including incidents, medications, and contrast reactions


• Performs and documents time-out procedures for invasive procedures


• Coordinates patient exams with transport and nursing units


• Continuously monitors patients throughout exams and applies radiation protection practices including ALARA principles


• Assists radiologists and authorized providers with exams as needed


• Assists in training new employees on equipment functionality and exam protocols


• Provides supervision and instruction to imaging students during clinical rotations


• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility, though local candidates are accepted at a lower pay rate
