Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support Cardiac/Vascular IR cases in Charlottesville, VA. The role requires 2+ years of vascular/IR experience and ARRT VI certification, with Epic experience and a robust case workflow aptitude.

The 13-week assignment includes 5x8 or 4x10 hour days, rotating call, and collaboration with vascular surgeons, OR staff, and procedural teams. Travel benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of vascular/IR experience.
• ARRT VI and BLS certifications required.
• VA state license required if applicable; pending licenses accepted if licensed elsewhere.
• Epic experience required.
• Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Experience with angioplasty, carotid stenting, EVAR/TEVAR.
• Vascular closure systems and access site prep experience.
• Hybrid OR/Special Procedures experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Comfort with full case workflow beyond equipment operation.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Imaging support role for vascular IR cases in OR/Hybrid OR.
• 13-week assignment.
• 5x8 hour or 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM or 6:30 AM-5:00 PM.
• Rotating call every 4th week.
• Uses Siemens equipment, ultrasound, and 3D spin/fusion tech.
• Documents inventory and procedures in EPIC and HI-IQ.
• Potential to float within clinical scope per facility policy.
• Pulls inventory and orders cases in EPIC prior to procedures.
• Runs the table and controls during cases; performs 3D spins and fusion imaging.
• Engaged throughout procedures including filming and post-processing.
• Works closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and staff.
• Utilizes C-arm for simple cases like Impellas and cystoscopies during downtime.
• 50-mile radius restriction for this unit.
• Maximum 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract; disclose prior to offer.
• Pre-start vacation time must be disclosed before start date.
• UVA past employees require separation and approval to return as travelers; external travelers capped at 365 days.
