Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with neuro IR experience for a cardiac and neuro interventional radiology assignment requiring ARRT and BLS certification.

The role involves day shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) with 1–2 weekly on-call shifts and a weekend per month; candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility. Prior UVA staff experience or travel experience may be considered.

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ARRT certification required.
• ARRT Advanced Certification preferred.
• VA license required if applicable, pending license accepted with active license in another state.
• Neuro interventional radiology experience required.
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Experience with abdominal, pelvic, vascular, genitourinary, and neurological IR procedures including angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, and biopsy procedures.
• Radioembolization and thoracentesis experience preferred.
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including cardiac stent placement and PTCA.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interventional Radiology department with a focus on cardiac and neuro procedures.
• Day shift schedule of 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• 1-2 call shifts per week and one call weekend per month.
• Must float within scope of practice as needed.
• Uses Siemens equipment and PACS system.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures including chest tube placement, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement, nephrostomy, and ureteral stent placement.
• Prior IR or Neuro IR staff experience may be considered in lieu of travel experience.
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible.
• Maximum of 40 hours of RTO per 13-week contract, all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission.
• Previous UVA permanent staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation with leadership approval before returning.
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once that threshold is reached.
