Job summary

American Traveler seeks an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac/Interventional Radiology suite. ARRT certification is required with 1+ year of experience. On-site role with travel to a sister facility and open to block scheduling; BLS required and cerner charting experience preferred.

The position includes 4x10 hour day shifts, on-call rotation, travel allowances, and comprehensive benefits in a major teaching hospital setting.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required; RCIS not accepted.
• Minimum 1 year of interventional radiology experience required.
• BLS certification required; vascular intervention cert preferred.
• State license required if applicable.
• Proficiency in sterile technique, EKG leads, access prep, and equipment setup.
• Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose).
• Experience as room circulator and scrub maintaining sterile fields.
• Cerner charting experience preferred; teaching and community hospital exposure valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional vascular radiology procedures with intervention (EVAR/TEVAR, carotid stenting, neuro-intervention).
• Maintain an average daily census of 7–10 patients.
• Work 4x10 hour day shifts, typically 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, Mon–Fri.
• Participate in on-call rotation, ~8 days/month incl. 1 weekend.
• Occasionally float to a sister facility 2 miles away for 1 week.
• Utilize PACS and fluoroscopy equipment; Cerner charts.
• Monitor patients, set up equipment, place EKG leads, prep access sites.
• Maintain sterile fields and assist with equipment maintenance and stocking.

• Interventional vascular radiology suite performing peripheral angiography/venography with intervention, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid stenting, and neuro-intervention including acute stroke and embolization
• Average daily census of 7-10 patients
• 4x10 hour day shifts, typically 7:30 AM-6:00 PM, Monday-Friday
• On-call rotation required, approximately 8 days a month including 1 weekend per month, with 30-minute response time
• Every third weekend required (5-6 total during contract)
• Floating required to a sister facility 2 miles away for 1 week
• Uses PACS system and fluoroscopy equipment (Siemens and ultrasound preferred)
• Charts in Cerner
• Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site preparation, and maintaining sterile fields during procedures
• Role includes equipment maintenance, inventory management, and supply stocking
• Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems
• 838 staffed beds
• Blue surgical scrubs issued by facility
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1-March 31) unless medically exempt; not required outside that window
• First-time travelers accepted
• Open to accommodating blocked schedule requests within reason, to be discussed at interview
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 60-99 miles may be considered with facility approval
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the broader health system (including sister facilities) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
