Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac IR position in Charlottesville, Virginia. The assignment runs for 26 weeks at 40 hours per week with 8-hour day shifts.

The role requires 2+ years IR experience, ARRT VI certification, BLS, Epic charting, and the ability to work in a Hybrid OR setting. VA licensure may be required and there is rotating call.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of vascular/IR experience.
• ARRT (VI) certification.
• Current BLS.
• VA state license if applicable.
• Epic charting experience.
• Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Vascular studies including angioplasty and EVAR/TEVAR.
• Carotid stenting experience preferred.
• Access site prep and closure systems familiarity.
• Siemens equipment and ultrasound experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide imaging support in the OR for vascular IR cases.
• Work in Hybrid OR and IR/Special Procedures.
• 5x8 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM.
• Rotating call every 4th week.
• Must float within scope as needed.
• Engage with vascular surgeons and OR team.
• Document inventory in Epic prior to procedures.
• Activate HI-IQ and post-process images.
• Assist with Impella placements and cystoscopies as needed.

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology position requiring 2+ years vascular/IR experience and ARRT certification.

• Provide imaging support in the OR working vascular interventional radiology cases
• Work in a Hybrid OR and Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures setting
• 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Rotating call every 4th week
• 50 mile radius rule applies
• Must float within scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• Current BLS and ARRT (VI) certification required
• VA state license required if applicable
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Experience with vascular studies/procedures including angioplasty, endovascular interventions (EVAR, TEVAR), thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography
• Carotid stenting experience preferred
• Experience prepping access sites and using vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
• Experience with Siemens equipment and ultrasound preferred

Additional Information

• Actively participate in the entire case workflow rather than solely operating equipment
• Pull inventory and order cases in Epic prior to procedures
• Run the table and controls during cases
• Perform 3D spins and work with fusion technology
• Engage in the room throughout procedures, including filming and post-processing images
• Use HI-IQ to document and add inventory used during cases
• Work closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and other procedural staff
• Utilize a C-arm to support simple surgical cases during downtime, including procedures such as Impella placements and cystoscopies
• Strong vascular/IR experience and familiarity with Hybrid OR procedures preferred
• Ability to work independently required
• Two references required for consideration
• Previous UVA employment as permanent staff or traveler requires 1-year separation and leadership approval, with a 365-day total assignment limit for external travelers
