American Traveler is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Kerrville, TX. The role combines diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab duties with scrub and monitoring for cardiology, vascular, and IR cases.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in cath lab scrub/monitor roles, ARRT R or RCIS, ACLS/BLS, and state licensure where required. Expect 40 hours/week on 4x10hour days with 10–12 days of call per month and housing options.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cath lab experience required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• ARRT R or RCIS certification required.
• State license required if applicable.
• Experience with scrub and monitor roles required.
• Experience with Impella and thrombectomy preferred.
• MERGE hemodynamic monitoring experience a plus.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Proficiency with vascular closure systems, EKG lead placement, access site prep, and sterile field maintenance.
• Knowledge of PCI and left/right heart catheterization, IABP and rotablator atherectomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, equipment setup, room circulation, scrubbing, and arrhythmia recognition.
• Respond to life-threatening arrhythmias and support rapid response teams.
• Maintain equipment/inventory and restock supplies daily.
• Support 4x10 hour day shifts and call requirements as part of travel assignment.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Cardiac Interventional Radiology with 2+ years experience in cath lab scrub and monitor roles for cardiology, vascular, and IR cases.

Details

• Work in a combined diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and interventional radiology setting
• Scrub and monitor for cardiology, vascular intervention, and IR cases
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Call required 10-12 days per month
• Uses fluoroscopy equipment and PACS system

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience required
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• ARRT R or RCIS certification required (either accepted, both not required)
• State license required if applicable
• Experience with scrub and monitor roles required
• Experience with Impella and thrombectomy preferred
• MERGE hemodynamic monitoring experience a plus
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), EKG lead placement, access site prep, and sterile field maintenance
• Knowledge of cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, left/right heart catheterization, IABP placement, PPI, and rotablator atherectomy preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include accurate monitoring, equipment set up, room circulating, scrubbing, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• Maintain equipment and inventory and restock supplies as part of daily duties
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Must work 3 of the 5 winter holidays
• RTO requests are reviewed case by case and must be factored into total contract length
• Facility housing available
• Travel pairs accepted on a case by case basis
• Does not accept local candidates within 50 mile radius
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, and a positive result results in automatic cancellation
