TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Infusion for a travel nursing assignment in West Islip, NY. The role focuses on infusion therapy and PICC line management, with a 13-week duration and 40 hours per week.

• Minimum 1 year of RN infusion experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Eligible for state licensure; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine need for infusion therapy or PICC placement.
• Insert, maintain, and care for PICC lines and other central venous access devices with patient safety in mind.
• Administer IV medications, fluids, and other treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient responses during and after infusions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Provide patient and family education on PICC care and infusion therapy at home.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care and ensure continuity across settings.
• Document interventions, patient responses, and care plans promptly and accurately.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols and proper equipment handling.
