Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Infusion for a travel nursing job in West Islip, New York. The assignment is 13 weeks long, with 40 hours per week and a 10-hour day shift, focusing on infusion care.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of infusion RN experience and a current BLS certification, with eligibility for state licensure. Additional certifications may be required as part of the assignment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN experience in an infusion setting.
• Current BLS certification.
• Eligible for State licensure (additional certifications may be required).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments for infusion therapy or PICC needs.
• Insert and care for PICC lines and other central venous devices.
• Administer IV meds and fluids per orders and monitor responses.
• Monitor patient status during and after infusions and adjust care as needed.
• Educate patients and families on PICC care and infusion safety at home.
• Coordinate with the care team to ensure continuity across settings.
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
• Manage caseload with timely visits and updates.
