Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a registered nurse for a high-acuity ICU Stepdown Unit in New Jersey. The role requires at least 1 year of ICU experience, an active NJ or compact RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications.

You will work the PM shift 7pm–7am, totaling 36 hours per week across three shifts, with every third weekend and on-call responsibilities. Floating to a sister hospital and using Epic EMR are part of the job. Local candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Active NJ or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a high acuity Stepdown Unit (SDU).
• PM shift schedule from 7p-7a.
• 36 hours per week across 3 shifts.
• Every 3rd weekend required.
• On-call responsibilities required.
• Floating required as needed, including to a sister hospital nearby.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric.
• Deliver direct patient care with strong clinical skills including emergency equipment and procedures.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of the nursing process and patient progress.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and use of two patient identifiers.
• Demonstrate safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient assessment and education.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Coverage required for one winter and one summer holiday.
