Job summary

Aggreko seeks a Major Project Travel Technician 2- Temp Control, home-based in the United States with up to 75% travel. You’ll install, service and repair HVAC and electrical distribution gear for major projects and utilities, using schematics and diagnostics to ensure reliability.

You will work with a team, maintain safety standards, and support remote operations while earning an hourly rate plus travel allowance and potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience working on HVAC equipment performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Read and comprehend electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• TWIC card or valid DOT medical card, or valid driver’s license may be required.
• Knowledge using metering and instruments such as multimeters, amps, and Hygrometers.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and repair Aggreko electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or OFA systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures both on Major Projects and in service centers.
• Read and comprehend electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Interface with a remote operations center to prevent failures and design proactive notifications.

What You’ll Do

• You will be part of an elite technician team that will work on a wide range of projects from large events, to assisting Utilities customers or being part of a turnaround team in a refinery.
• Install, commission, service and repair Aggreko electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or OFA systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures both on Major Projects and in service centers. Utilize mathematical formulas to calculate both nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements.
• Read and comprehend electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of, practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.
• Interface with a remote operations center to prevent failures, help design proactive notification to avoid failures and compliance.

Here’s What You’ll Get

• High school diploma/GED
• 4+ years' experience working on HVAC equipment performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Electrical Generating System Association technician or other various certifications are a plus but not required.
• Knowledge using metering and instruments such as multi-meter’s, amp meters, and Hygrometers
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card, valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

Other Essential Job Requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
