Aggreko plc is seeking a Major Project Travel Technician - Power Generator to support a home-based role with up to 75% travel across the United States. You will install, commission, service and repair diesel generators, HVAC, and related systems while reading electrical schematics and maintenance manuals.

Applicants should have 8+ years' generator experience, high school or GED, and may hold a TWIC or DOT medical card. Strong safety focus and ability to travel are essential for success.

• Travel to job sites, including potential weekends and overtime.

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Major Project Travel Technician - Power Generator based in any US city. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil-free air without end. What you’ll do:

• You will be part of an elite technician team that will work on a wide range of projects from large events, to assisting Utilities customers or being part of a turnaround team in a refinery.
• Install, commission, service and repair Aggreko generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or OFA systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures both on Major Projects and in service centers.
• Utilize mathematical formulas to calculate both nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements.
• Read and comprehend electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of, practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.
• Interface with a remote operations center to prevent failures, help design proactive notification to avoid failures and compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• 8+ years' experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Electrical Generating System Association technician or other various certifications are a plus but not required.
• Knowledge using metering and instruments such as multi-meter’s, amp meters, and Hygrometers
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card, valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
• Other essential job requirements Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
