Job summary

Phillips Infrastructure in Grand Junction, CO seeks a skilled welder to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components and repair heavy equipment attachments. This role requires frequent travel to diverse job sites and adherence to safety standards.

You will weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, read blueprints, and maintain safety while supporting equipment maintenance projects across locations.

Qualifications

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Operate safety equipment and follow safe work habits.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts using measuring tools.
• Inspect work pieces and verify conformance with specifications.
• Recognize and operate hand and power tools common to welding (SMAW/GMAW).
• Weld with aluminum, cast iron, and other alloys.
• Clamp, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts for welding.
• Select and install torches, tips, filler rods, flux per specs.
• Ignite torches and strike arcs by contacting electrodes.
• Adjust gas flow/pressure to achieve desired flames.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components.
• Repair heavy equipment attachments such as buckets, dozer blades, moldboards, haul truck beds.
