Job summary

LINX is seeking a Fiber Specialist to join a travel-based team deploying to enterprise and hyperscale data centers nationwide. You’ll independently perform ribbon and loose tube fusion splicing, validate results with OTDR/OLTS testing, and lead splice projects across multi-market sites.

The role emphasizes hands-on, high-volume fiber work with room for leadership of small crews. You will read fiber drawings, document splice records, and coordinate with customers and other trades on-site during

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years performing advanced fusion splicing independently (ribbon and loose tube).
• Ability to perform OTDR, OLTS, optical power meter, and VFL testing.
• Ability to build/dress splice enclosures, FDFs, LIUs, and MPO panels.
• Ability to read/interprete fiber drawings and rack elevations.
• Produce splice records and turnover documentation meeting customer standards.
• Willingness to travel nationally on a continuous basis.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform ribbon and loose tube fusion splicing, including butt splices, ties-ins, and restoration work.
• Build and dress splice enclosures and Fiber Distribution Frames (FDFs).
• Install Line Interface Units (LIUs) and MPO panels.
• Perform mid-span entries and ring cuts; ensure proper fiber routing and cable management.
• Perform OTDR, OLTS, optical power meter, and VFL testing; validate results against criteria.
• Produce accurate splice records and complete fiber test packages; update red lines.
