Job summary

LINX is seeking Fiber Technicians for its travel-based team that deploys to enterprise, hyperscale, and data center builds across the country. This is a 100% travel role with on-the-job training from experienced technicians on ribbon and single fiber fusion splicing, inspection scopes, and Visual Fault Locators.

Work involves identifying fiber codes, preparing cables, splicing, testing, documenting results, and maintaining organized records while traveling nationwide.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, electrical, or low-voltage construction.
• 6 months fiber splicing experience.
• Familiarity with fiber optic cable types and color codes.
• Exposure to fiber optic testing utilizing OTDRs.
• 1+ year experience working in commercial facilities or data centers.
• 1+ year experience with cable tray, ladder rack, raceway, Unistrut, or other cable support systems.
• 1+ year experience with basic fiber optic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify fiber optic color codes and cable types.
• Install fiber raceway, tray, ladder rack, and supports.
• Assist with fiber termination and splice enclosure installation.
• Label cables and splice trays accurately.
• Prepare fiber cables, closures, and enclosures for splicing.
• Perform ribbon and single-fiber fusion splicing under supervision.
• Use inspection scopes and Visual Fault Locators to verify splice quality.
• Document splice results and daily project reports.
