Job summary

LINX is seeking Fiber Technicians for a 100% travel role that deploys to enterprise and hyperscale data center builds across the country. You will splice, test, and install fiber infrastructure, training with experienced technicians on ribbon and fusion splicing and using inspection scopes and Visual Fault Locators.

Ideal candidates have 1–2+ years in telecom or low-voltage construction, 6 months fiber splicing, and willingness to travel nationally.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, or low-voltage construction.
• 6 months fiber splicing experience.
• Familiarity with fiber optic cable types and color codes.
• Exposure to fiber optic testing utilizing OTDRs.
• 1+ year experience in commercial facilities or data centers.
• 1+ year experience with cable trays, ladder rack, raceway or similar systems.
• 1+ year experience using basic fiber optic hand and preparation tools.
• Willingness to travel nationally on a continuous basis.
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a traveling field crew.

Responsibilities

• Fiber Fundamentals and Installation: Identify fiber optic color codes, ribbon numbering, and cable types; install fiber raceway, basket tray, ladder rack, and supports; assist with termination and splice enclosure installation; label cables and panels.
• Cable Preparation, Splicing, and Testing: Prepare cables for splicing, perform ribbon and single-fiber fusion splicing; clean and prep fibers; use inspection scopes and Visual Fault Locators to verify splice quality; assist with testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Documentation: Complete daily paperwork and project reports; document splice results and test data; maintain labeling and organization of records.
• Safety and Professionalism: Follow safety policies; manage tools and equipment across sites; represent LINX professionally at customer sites nationwide.
