Job summary

LINX is hiring Fiber Specialists for a travel-based team that deploys to enterprise, hyperscale, and data center builds across the country. You will independently perform ribbon and loose tube fusion splicing and validate results against customer criteria on OTDR and OLTS, while advancing through a path from Fiber Technician to Sr.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of hands-on fusion splicing experience on ribbon and loose tube fiber.
• Ability to perform OTDR/OLTS/VFL testing and validate against criteria.
• Experience building splice enclosures, FDFs, LIUs, and MPO panels.
• Read fiber drawings and rack elevations.
• Produce splice records and turnover documentation.
• Willingness to travel nationwide; travel-based role with no fixed home market.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Work independently at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform ribbon and loose-tube fusion splicing, including butt splices.
• Build and dress splice enclosures and FDFs.
• Install LIUs and MPO panels.
• Perform mid-span entries and ring cuts.
• Maintain fiber routing, slack storage, and cable management to spec.
• Test with OTDR, OLTS, optical power meter, and VFL.
• Configure tests and validate against acceptance criteria.
• Produce splice records and complete test packages.
• Update red lines and as-built documentation.
• Lead small crews of 5+ technicians when assigned.
• Coordinate with customers and other trades on-site.
