Job summary

LINX is hiring Fiber Specialists for its travel-based team that deploys to enterprise, hyperscale, and hyperscale data center builds across the country. You’ll independently perform ribbon and loose tube fusion splicing and validate results against customer criteria on OTDR and OLTS, focusing on high-volume fiber work rather than a fixed site.

This role supports AI cluster and GPU infrastructure deployments, leads small crews of technicians, and coordinates with customers on-site.

Qualifications

• Hands-on fusion splicing experience in ribbon and loose tube.
• Ability to perform OTDR, OLTS, power meter, and VFL testing to meet specs.
• Experience building splice enclosures, FDFs, LIUs, and MPO panels.
• Ability to read fiber drawings and rack elevations.
• Willingness to travel nationally on a continuous basis.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform ribbon and loose tube fusion splicing.
• Build and dress splice enclosures and FDFs.
• Install LIUs and MPO panels.
• Perform mid-span entries and ring cuts.
• Maintain proper fiber routing and cable management to spec.
• Perform OTDR, OLTS, optical power meter, and VFL testing.
• Diagnose and resolve splice loss issues and routing problems.
• Produce splice records and test packages.
• Read fiber drawings and related construction docs.
• Lead small crews of technicians when assigned.
