Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services is seeking a highly skilled Shop/Traveling Diesel Mechanic with extensive troubleshooting experience in medium and heavy-duty truck systems. This role requires travel across OK, TX, LA, KS, and CO, with a shop base in Oklahoma City, OK.

The ideal candidate works independently, diagnoses complex systems, and performs repairs efficiently on first attempt. Service truck provided; DOT compliance and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a diesel mechanic with heavy-duty trucks.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and emissions systems.
• Experience with aftertreatment systems and diesel emissions components.
• Ability to work independently in remote environments and travel across multiple states.
• Fabrication and welding experience required.

Responsibilities

• Travel between job sites to inspect, diagnose, and repair medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks, skid steers, and related equipment.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of: Diesel engines, Electrical systems, Hydraulic systems, Emissions systems (aftertreatment/DEF systems), Transmissions, A/C systems, Hi-Rail gear systems, Spray systems.
• Utilize scan tools, diagnostic software, multimeters, pressure gauges, and other testing equipment to identify failures.
• Perform routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative services.
• Demonstrate knowledge of diesel emissions systems and electrical diagnostics.
• Complete repairs efficiently and correctly on the first attempt through root-cause analysis.
• Perform fabrication, welding, and cutting as required.
• Maintain service truck organization and parts accountability.
