Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services is seeking a highly skilled Shop/Traveling Diesel Mechanic. Based in Oklahoma City, you will travel across OK/TX/LA/KS/CO diagnosing and repairing medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks and related equipment.

The role requires independent field work and a shop presence, with service trucks provided. You will perform advanced diagnostics on diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic and emissions systems, plus routine maintenance and emergency repairs.

Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy-duty truck repair.
Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and emissions systems (REQUIRED).
Strong understanding of aftertreatment systems and diesel emissions components.
Willingness to travel across multiple states; hotel accommodations and per-diem provided by DCS.
Fabrication and welding experience required.
ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
Valid driver's license; must pass a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

Travel between job sites to inspect, diagnose, and repair medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks, skid steers, and related equipment.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, emissions, transmissions, and A/C systems.
Utilize scan tools, diagnostic software, multimeters, pressure gauges, and other testing equipment to identify mechanical and electrical failures.
Perform routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative services.
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of diesel emissions systems and electrical diagnostics.
Complete repairs efficiently and correctly on the first attempt through root-cause analysis.
Perform fabrication, welding, and cutting as required.
Maintain service truck organization, tool inventory, and parts accountability.
Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate repair updates with management.
Ensure full compliance with safety standards and DOT regulations.
Work extended hours as needed and in all weather conditions.
