Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services seeks a skilled Shop/Traveling Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. Work includes travel across OK/TX/LA/KS/CO, with the shop based in Oklahoma City, OK, and service trucks provided.

You will perform advanced troubleshooting, fabrication, and preventive maintenance, with emphasis on safety and DOT compliance. ASE certifications are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy-duty truck repair.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and emissions systems (REQUIRED).
• Strong understanding of aftertreatment systems and diesel emissions components.
• Proven ability to work independently in remote environments with minimal supervision.
• Fabrication and welding experience required.
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license required; must be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Willingness to travel frequently across multiple states.
• Must provide verifiable employment history and hands-on experience

Responsibilities

• Travel between job sites to inspect, diagnose, and repair medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks, skid steers, and related equipment.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems.
• Repair transmissions, A/C systems, hi-rail gear, and spray systems.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Perform routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative services.
• Maintain service truck organization and parts inventory.
• Communicate repair updates with management.
• Ensure safety and DOT compliance.
