Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a CT Scan Technologist for a weekend shift at a Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. Requires 2+ years CT experience, NYS license, ARRT, and EPIC EMR proficiency.

The role involves performing CT exams across trauma, ER, outpatient and inpatient settings, with rotating holidays and three 12-hour shifts from Friday to Sunday. Safety and ongoing learning are emphasized in a dynamic radiology department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School and high school diploma.
• NYS Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or limited permit to practice in NYS (license required if applicable).
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI.

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center setting within the Radiology department.
• Performs CT exams on trauma, ER, outpatient, inpatient (stable and critical care), research, and CT-guided procedure patients.
• Weekend shift schedule: Friday through Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM (three 12-hour shifts).
• No on‑call responsibilities
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Performs technical procedures and assists in clinical evaluation and patient care under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist
• Supports teaching and ongoing learning as CT technology evolves
• Practices and enforces radiation safety measures per NYS Department of Health code part 16
• Competency testing may be required for ICU unit placements, including Neuro ICU and SICU, with up to 2 attempts to pass
• Medical staff with less than 2 years of experience may be required to pass additional specialty testing with up to 2 attempts
• Only medical exemptions for flu vaccination are accepted; personal or religious declinations are not permitted
• More than 3 call‑outs within a 13‑week assignment period may result in contract termination, with make‑up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
• Local candidates are not accepted from Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington counties
