Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for an acute care Cardiac Cath Lab in Alaska. The role requires 2+ years of cath lab experience and ARRT or RCIS certification. EPIC EMR is used for charting and Pyxis for medication dispensing.

The position features a Tue–Fri schedule, 9-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with potential call coverage and weekend shifts depending on staffing. Vaccination or declination forms are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of diagnostic and/or interventional cardiac cath lab experience.
• Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology.
• ARRT or RCIS certification required, or CVT with 4 years cath lab experience; RCIS exam eligibility accepted at hire.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• License required if applicable.
• Clinical competence in cardiac physiology/pathology and 12-lead EKG interpretation.
• Experience with physiologic monitoring, intracardiac pressure waveforms, and pacemaker operations.
• Familiarity with radiographic equipment used in cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 4-6 rooms.
• EPIC EMR used for charting; Pyxis used for medication dispensing.
• Schedule Tue–Fri, 9-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Call coverage and weekend shifts may be required depending on staffing needs.
• Floating requirements have not been identified at this time.
• Provide technical support to physicians during diagnostic/invasive cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures.
• Perform scrub and hemodynamic monitoring during cardiac catheterizations and vascular/interventional radiology procedures.
• Assist in the holding area and provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedural patient care and instruction.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to procedures.
• Scrubs required as part of dress code.
• Complete service partner orientation on first day onsite with department-specific orientation.
• Required training modules must be completed prior to starting.
• COVID vaccination or declination form required; unvaccinated staff must wear masks.
• Returning travelers with prior employment at this facility must disclose it for a DNU check.
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate.
• Facility allows cancellation of up to 24 hours within a 13-week assignment with no penalty.
