Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for a day shift assignment in Maryland. Requires 2+ years of cath lab experience and ARRT R or RCIS certification.

IR/EP experience and ACLS/BLS are required; MD license or compact license is also required. Responsibilities include performing duties in the cardiac Cath Lab and EP lab, floating to IR/EP as needed, and supporting 3x12 hour shifts from early morning to evening.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience within the last 7 years.
• IR and EP experience preferred.
• ARRT R or RCIS certification required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• MD license or compact license required.
• Travel assignments with positive references preferred.
• Experience in cardiac procedures (stent, IABP, catheterization, PCI/PTCA).

Responsibilities

• Cover diagnostic and interventional Cath Lab and EP lab work settings.
• Float to IR and EP labs as needed.
• 3x12 hour day shifts, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM.
• On-call 6-8 shifts every 6 weeks; one weekend on-call per schedule.
• Weekend coverage as needed; holiday coverage as needed.
• Maintain sterile field and monitor patients during procedures.
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cath lab experience for a day shift assignment requiring ARRT R or CCI RCIS certification.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required within the last 7 years
• IR and EP experience preferred
• ARRT R or CCI RCIS certification required
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• MD license or compact license required, license required if applicable
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required with positive references on file
• Skilled in procedures such as cardiac stent placement, IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, and PTCA
• Proficiency with PACS equipment

Responsibilities

• Cardiac Cath Lab unit with diagnostic and interventional cath lab, plus EP lab work settings
• Float to cover IR and EP as needed
• 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call required, 6-8 shifts per 6 week schedule including 1 weekend on-call per schedule
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend as needed
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, room circulating, and maintaining sterile field while scrubbing in
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Candidates must provide a driver's license matching their address to determine local status
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• First-time travelers not considered for this role
• Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Candidates in cardiac-related specialties must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
