Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 18 months of experience in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures. The role requires ARRT (R) and BLS certification, licensure where applicable, and current AHA/RQI credentials.

The position involves diagnostic and interventional labs, 4x10 hour shifts, and on-call duties with a short response time. Travel within Indiana is expected, with housing support and per diem benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of experience in cardiac cath lab and EP procedures.
• ARRT (R) and BLS certification required.
• License required if applicable.
• AHA and RQI certifications current at submission.
• 2 supervisor references required.
• SSN and DOB required for consideration.
• Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control.
• Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose).
• Skills in ablation, mapping, cardioversion, PPM insertion, PCI/PTCA/TAVR.
• Ability to scrub, circulate, and maintain sterile fields.

Responsibilities

• Work in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath and EP labs.
• 4x10 hour day shifts, Mon-Fri, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM.
• On-call roughly one evening per week and every 4th weekend; 30-min response.
• Utilize Siemens equipment and PACS system.
• Cerner charting experience required.
• Travel to hospital or affiliate locations as needed.
• Lead EKG lead placement and access site prep; monitor hemodynamics.
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cath/EP procedures and device closures.
• Stock and maintain procedural supplies and equipment.
• Local Indiana candidates accepted; must work holidays.
• First-time travelers accepted; IU Health policy exceptions apply.

• Skilled in procedures including cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, TAVR, Watchman, and Impella insertion
• Ability to scrub, circulate, and maintain sterile fields during procedures

Responsibilities

• Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology (EP) lab
• 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• On-call responsibility roughly one evening per week and every 4th weekend with a 30-minute response time
• Uses Siemens equipment and PACS system
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required for all travelers
• Responsibilities include EKG lead placement, access site preparation, accurate hemodynamic monitoring, and recognition of life‑threatening arrhythmias
• Perform both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and EP procedures, including arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, and cardiac implant closure devices
• Stock and maintain procedural supplies and equipment
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto‑approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First‑time travelers are accepted
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a break before becoming eligible again (90 days for out‑of‑state residents, 180 days for in‑state residents)
