Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience and RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification for a diagnostic cath lab travel assignment.

The role involves 4x10 hour days, travel within facilities, and call requirements. Epic experience is required for charting and equipment includes GE Discovery, IABP, and Impella.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years scrubbing heart caths and devices.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification required.
• Experience with EKG settings, vitals, and rhythm interpretation.
• Epic experience required.
• Travel experience preferred and license as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 3 rooms and 5 beds.
• Adult to geriatric patient population.
• Average daily census of 8-10 patients.
• Procedures include diagnostic cath, PCI, orbital atherectomy, IABP, Impella, and device implants.
• Uses GE Discovery, IABP, Impella, and CSI equipment.
• Epic required for charting, Pyxis and SBAR used, Merge preferred.
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified.
• May float within department and facility, including to sister campus.
• Call requirements of 12-15 days per month plus 2 weekends (Sat/Sun) with late stay as needed.
• Responsibilities include accurate monitoring, EKG lead placement, room circulating, and maintaining sterile field while scrubbing.
• Preferred skills include angioplasty, stent placement, hemodynamic monitoring, and central venous access.
• Scrubs provided by facility.
• Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, must be finalized at time of submission.
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week.
• Holiday coverage required as follows: 1-2 major holidays in assignment period must be worked, if 3 major holidays occur travelers work 2 of them.
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
• First-time travelers not accepted for this position.
• Returning employees or travelers must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before reapplying as a traveler.
