Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a fast-paced cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology setting.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab / EP Tech experience
• BLS, ACLS, and ARRT (R) certification required
• License required if applicable
• Skilled in circulating and conscious sedation
• Experience scrubbing and maintaining sterile fields
• Proficient in EKG lead placement, hemodynamic monitoring, and recognition of life‑threatening arrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac stent placement, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
• Experience with vascular access, angioplasty, and central venous access procedures
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 2 supervisor references required

Responsibilities

• Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology setting
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Call required minimum 2 days per week and every 3rd weekend
• 100% floating required within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Procedures include LHC, RHC, balloon pumps, temporary and permanent pacemakers/defibrillators, pericardial effusion, and STEMI call
• IR procedures include venous access, drain placement, GI tube insertion, PE/DVT treatment, TIPS, PV, fistula work, UFEs, prostate embolizations, and internal bleed management
• Equipment used includes Acist injector, Siemens and Philips C-arms, Medrad power injector, Rotopro, Diamondback, IVUS, OCT, Shock wave, Rampart, Pneumbra, and Inari devices
• Cerner charting preferred
• Responsibilities include equipment setup, prepping access sites, and room circulating during procedures
• Must be comfortable working in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings
• Adheres to isolation precautions, PPE, and infection control standards
• First‑time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non‑holiday RTO can be auto‑approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• IN residents are considered local for this position
• Past IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of travel employment must complete a designated break to reset eligibility before reapplying
