American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab in Allentown, PA. Requires 2+ years of specialty experience and ARRT (R), ACLS, BLS credentials.

The role includes PCI, PTCA, TAVR, Watchman, IABP/Impella support, 1:1 patient care, 4x10 hour shifts, a 13-week assignment, and on-call every 4–5 weekends. Epic charting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab.
• ARRT (R), ACLS, and BLS certifications required.
• Experience with coronary/peripheral lithotripsy is required.
• Proficient in PCI, PTCA, TAVR and related hemodynamic monitoring.
• Strong sterile technique and scrub procedures are essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab work with Hybrid OR capability.
• 1:1 patient ratio and 4x10 hour shifts (7:30–16:00 or 9:30–18:00).
• 13-week assignment with on-call every 4–5 weekends.
• Perform procedures such as coronary/peripheral lithotripsy, PCI, ASD closures, and pacemaker insertions.
• Maintain equipment and participate in room setup, EKG lead placement, and safety monitoring.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab
• ARRT (R), ACLS, and BLS certifications required
• ARRT CI certification preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with coronary/peripheral lithotripsy required
• Skilled in angioplasty, endovascular interventions, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and vascular studies
• Proficient in cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, PTCA, TAVR, Watchman, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Skilled in sterile technique and scrub procedures
• License required if applicable
• 2 valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting with Hybrid OR capability
• 1:1 patient ratio
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM or 9:30 AM-6:00 PM
• 13-week assignment
• On call required every 4 to 5 weekends
• Epic charting system experience required
• Special equipment includes Impella, IABP, Aviggo+, IVUS, Coroflow, Rotoblade, GE Innova IGS, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound
• Performs coronary and peripheral lithotripsy procedures
• Responsibilities include EKG lead placement, access site prep, equipment setup, room circulator duties, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Performs procedures such as ASD closures, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, and permanent pacemaker insertion
• Maintains equipment and inventory in the cath lab
• Scrubs provided
• First-time travelers accepted with 2 years of specialty experience
• Local candidates accepted at a different rate within a 50-mile radius
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and no changes accepted afterward
