Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for an Echocardiology clinic. The ideal candidate holds RDCS or RCS certification and has at least one year of cardiac sonography experience.

A degree from an accredited Echocardiography program is required, along with BLS and license where applicable. The role is an outpatient position in the Heart and Vascular Institute with day shifts and no weekend or on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• RDCS or RCS certification is required.
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as Cardiac Sonographer.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Echocardiography program.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and EKG rhythms.
• Experience with IV insertion for ultrasound imaging enhancement agents and bubble studies.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records.
• License required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinic setting within an Echocardiology unit at the Heart and Vascular Institute.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts with start times of 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, or 8:00 AM.
• No weekends or on‑call requirements.
• May be required to work at other Heart and Vascular Institute sites on occasion.
• Work closely with cardiologists in the assessment and treatment of cardiac diseases.
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound testing including m-mode, 2D, 3D, spectral Doppler, color Doppler, tissue Doppler imaging, strain imaging, and bubble studies.
• Conduct contrast-enhanced transthoracic echocardiograms and exercise/pharmacologic stress echocardiograms.
• Provide imaging support for structural heart procedures.
• Assist cardiologists with 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Dress code requires khaki scrubs.
• Accepts local candidates within a 35-mile radius at a reduced rate.
