Job summary

T Tulsa Technology Center is seeking an experienced part-time instructor for the ACD program in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The role involves teaching travel agent concepts, updating syllabi, and delivering competency-based instruction during evening classes.

Requirements include 3–5 years in the travel industry, a recognized Travel Industry certification, knowledge of industry terminology, ability to research and quote clients, and willingness to mentor adult learners.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years actively working as a travel agent is required.
• Must have a certification recognized by the Travel Industry.
• Knowledge of travel industry terminology and ability to research and prepare quotes for clients.
• Must be familiar with setting up an agency and/or working for an agency and how they differ.
• Experience teaching adults in an educational setting is preferred.
• Flexible to work at least one night per week as scheduled throughout the spring, summer and fall semesters.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.
• Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
• Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.
• Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.
• Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.
• Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. – prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.)
• Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program.
• Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
• Maintain dependable attendance and timeliness arrival in accordance with scheduled work hours.
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
