Job summary

Tulsa Tech is seeking an adjunct upholstery instructor to teach adult students at a Tulsa Tech campus. The role involves delivering competency-based instruction, maintaining attendance and progress records, and ensuring up-to-date lesson plans and syllabi.

Requirements include a HS diploma or equivalent and upholstery experience. Classes run daytime or evening, with compensation at $30 per hour.

  • Professional upholstery experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching adults preferred.
  • Provide instruction in a classroom setting to adult students in the topic area of upholstery.
  • Available to teach one class per week at a Tulsa Tech campus location.
Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.
  • Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
  • Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.
  • Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. – prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

Hiring Range

$30 per hour
